We spend our week in a stunning 17th century villa surrounded by ancient olive trees in the countryside just outside Monopoli. Starting off with a photo walk through the old town of Bari with a local Puglian historian stopping for portraits with nonna’s making orecchiette outside their homes and fishermen posing with their beers and local catch of the day.

A day with a renowned Italian photographer exploring the local beach for those classic sunbathing moments as well as visits to local artists, and an artist-run gallery in the ancient UNESCO World Heritage city of Matera.

Between all that, we still have time for a cooking lesson to learn the art of the famous shell-shaped pasta, an afternoon sailing through the Adriatic for ocean swims and champagne, a visit to a local organic wine vineyard for tastings, and tons of free time to enjoy our gorgeous (and enormous) pool. Pasta and gelato will be overflowing, of course.
